For those who want a serious workout, ashtanga yoga offers a fast-paced series of sequential poses beginning with sun salutations. Students move from one posture to another in a continual flow and link movements to breath. This physically demanding yoga practice builds strength, flexibility, and stamina. Power yoga is based on ashtanga.
Hatha YogaGentle movement and postures designed to reduce stress, increase self awareness and builds strength and balance. It is the most common form of yoga practiced.
Anusara Style YogaA relatively new form of yoga pairing strict principles of alignment with a playful spirit. Postures can be challenging but the real message is to open your heart and strive to connect with the divine in yourself and others.
Vinyasa Flow YogaPoses flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath. We work on integrating breath and movement, awareness and alignment, strength and flexibility. A great workout!
Kripalu YogaCalled the yoga of consciousness, Kripalu puts emphasis on proper breath, alignment, coordinating breath and movement, and "honoring the wisdom of the body". Students learn to focus on the physical and psychological reactions caused by various postures to develop their mind, body, emotion, and spirit.
